No. roship is built to be useful even if you have never written a line of Luau. You describe what you want in plain language; roship plans, writes and validates the code, then ships it straight into Roblox Studio.
Does it work with my existing Roblox project?
Yes. The Studio plugin pairs with your place and indexes your scripts and structure, so suggestions reference the names, services and patterns already in your game, not generic snippets that do not fit.
What happens if the AI makes a mistake?
Every generation passes our validation pipeline (TypeScript, roblox-ts, Selene, Luau type checker) before it lands. If anything fails, you see why and roship iterates. Each delivery is wrapped in a Studio undo waypoint, so you can revert a single change instantly.
Do I have to bring my own LLM API key?
No. There is no BYOK. We absorb the LLM cost in your subscription. No API keys, no extra setup, no surprise bills from a third-party model provider.
Is my code or game data shared with anyone?
Your code and prompts are used only to serve your own session. We never sell your data or train shared models on it, and sensitive patterns (API keys, tokens, secrets) are redacted before anything is sent to the LLM.
